Prepare Dates
Remove the seeds from 8-10 dates by making a cut in the middle and carefully taking them out. These will be used as the natural sweetener.
Combine Ingredients for Soaking
In a large bowl, add 1/4 cup oats, 1/4 cup cashew nuts, 1/4 cup almonds, 1/4 cup dark chocolate, the deseeded dates, and 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder (optional).
Add Hot Milk and Soak
Pour 1.5 cups of hot milk over all the ingredients in the bowl. Mix everything thoroughly. Cover the bowl and let it soak for at least 30 minutes, or longer if time permits, to ensure all ingredients soften and swell.
Blend into a Smooth Paste
Once the ingredients have softened, transfer them to a mixer grinder jar. Blend the mixture without adding any extra water or milk until it forms a completely smooth and creamy paste. Ensure there are no lumps or large pieces of dry fruits remaining.
Add Choco Chips (Optional) and Prepare for Freezing
Pour the smooth chocolate paste into a serving container or any dish suitable for freezing. You can add some choco chips on top (optional) to mimic a market-style ice cream.
Cover and Freeze
Cover the surface of the ice cream mixture directly with cling wrap or a clean plastic sheet. This prevents ice crystals from forming. Place the container in the freezer for at least 8 to 9 hours, or until it is completely frozen and firm.
Serve
Once frozen, remove the ice cream from the freezer, peel off the cover, and scoop it out to serve chilled.
